In a significant move to transform Selangor’s southern coastline, Lim Seong Hai Capital Berhad (“LSH Capital”), Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (“PNSB”), and Seriemas Development Sdn Bhd (“Seriemas Development”) have officially launched the Morib Rejuvenation Project. The landmark initiative, officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin bin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor, aims to revitalize the historic Sri Morib Golf Course and redevelop the surrounding town into a vibrant coastal destination.
The project is structured through two dedicated special purpose vehicles and will be executed by LSH Capital’s wholly-owned subsidiary, LSH Best Builders Sdn Bhd (“LSHBB”), which holds a 70% stake alongside Besteel Engtech Sdn Bhd. The development will unfold on land owned by Seriemas Development, Seriemas Resort Sdn Bhd, and PNSB.
A Two-Pronged Vision for a Modern Township
At the core of the project is the comprehensive rejuvenation of the Sri Morib Golf and Country Club. The 18-hole, par-72 course, which spans approximately 142 acres, will undergo extensive restoration over a two-year period to upgrade its playing surfaces and facilities. Complementing this will be the construction of a new clubhouse and hotel apartment on five acres of prime beachfront land, designed to enhance the visitor experience.
Adjacent to the course, a sprawling mixed-use development will take shape across approximately 150 acres. With a preliminary Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM850 million, this component will feature residential and commercial spaces, rolled out over a 10-year masterplan. Together, these elements are poised to establish Morib as a premier leisure and tourism hub.
Catalysing Coastal Tourism and Economic Growth
The Morib Rejuvenation Project is set to elevate the area’s profile from a modest weekend retreat to a dynamic, integrated coastal destination. The upgraded golf course, coupled with new hospitality offerings and a thriving township, is expected to attract a consistent flow of golfers, tourists, and day-trippers. This influx will not only extend visitor stays but also stimulate demand for local food and beverage outlets, retail, and other enterprises.
The project leverages significant government investments already underway in the area, including the Pantai Morib beach revitalization which will feature a new boardwalk, plazas, and recreational facilities. Furthermore, the Selangor State Government’s flagship initiative, the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (IDRISS), is attracting high-impact investments in tourism, commerce, and housing, further bolstered by improved connectivity via the West Coast Expressway. These synergistic efforts are expected to create a critical mass of infrastructure and attractions, ensuring sustainable, long-term growth for the Morib community.
A Strategic Alignment with National and State Agendas
The launch is perfectly timed to support the Visit Malaysia 2026 and Visit Selangor Year 2026 campaigns. Recognizing golf as a key specialty tourism product, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, along with the Selangor State Government, are actively promoting the sport to drive higher tourist spending. The Morib project, with its rejuvenated course in close proximity to the Klang Valley, directly contributes to these national and state objectives.
