The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) continues to strengthen the position of the nation’s industrial sector through the Industry Excellence Awards (AKI) 2026, officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, and attended by YB Datuk Seri Johari bin Abdul Ghani, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, and YB Tuan Sim Tze Tzin, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry.
This ceremony serves as a recognition platform to appreciate local companies’ achievements in terms of competitiveness, innovation, and business resilience at the global level. Since 1991, AKI has contributed to raising industry competitiveness through objective and comprehensive assessments that help companies identify strengths and areas for improvement in business performance.
The Prime Minister’s Award is the highest recognition of AKI 2026, presented based on an overall assessment of management quality, product impact, sustainability practices, and company technology integration. In addition to this main award, 14 categories were contested, encompassing the Manufacturing Sector, Services Sector, Open Category, Most Potential Company Category, Industry4WRD Excellence Award, and ESG Excellence Award.
UMW Aerospace Sdn. Bhd. won the Prime Minister’s Award, in addition to winning the Manufacturing Sector Excellence Award Category 3. In the same category, Ideal Health Care Sdn. Bhd. emerged as the Category 1 winner, while Syarikat Thong Guan Trading Sdn. Bhd. won Category 2.
For the Services Sector Excellence Award, the winners comprised Kawalan Isba Sdn. Bhd. (Category 1), Legenda Bumimas Sdn. Bhd. (Category 2), Advantage Marine Services (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Category 3), and EPIC Berhad (Category 4). TOTO Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. won the Open Category Excellence Award, while Byond Tech Global Berhad received the Most Potential Company Award.
In the Industry4WRD category, Famax Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Sydney Cake House Sdn. Bhd. won the Industry4WRD Excellence Award Category 1 and Category 2 respectively, while Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn. Bhd. received a Special Award. For the ESG Excellence Award, Polyparts Sdn. Bhd. won Category 1, while Kawan Food Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. secured Category 2. Syarikat Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn. Bhd. (Modenas) also received a Special Award for the same category.
The organization of AKI 2026 supports the nation’s aspiration to ensure that the growth of the industrial sector benefits the people at large, particularly through the creation of quality job opportunities, the development of a highly skilled workforce, and the improvement of living standards.
